Anton Zeilinger’s Newton Lecture, along with an exclusive interview about his scientific and personal life, can now be streamed directly from the Institute of Physics (IOP)’s website.

IOP’s inaugural Newton Lecture was given in June 2008 by this year’s Newton Medal winner, Anton Zeilinger, a leader in quantum information research who has inspired a generation of up and coming quantum physicists with his profound insights into the microscopic nature of reality.

The Newton Lecture begins with an introduction to quantum mechanics and proceeds through developments in Zeilinger’s field.  Click here to watch the lecture.

After the lecture, Zeilinger gave an exclusive interview within which he talks about his life in Vienna, his hobbies, his children, his perpetual curiosity, the love for his subject and the challenges it poses.

He said, “We now know with relatively high confidence that it’s the idea of reality which is at stake.  This is real significant progress.”
